CHOOSE TO BE IN FRONT
The designers aim right from the beginning with the new FIRST in the .7 range has been to help you win races with a production boat, conceived with a one-design firmly in mind. Clearly comfort, without which a FIRST would not be a FIRST, has not been forgotten for those who take relaxing cruises. To achieve this ambitious objective, Bénéteau have made the best use of their know-how and technological skills. The First 34.7 is the sum of a world leaders technological progress - so that you can be out in front. And that is not all. Bénéteau called on Bruce Farr to give the 34.7 a really revolutionary hull both stable and powerful, with a large bowsprit forward allowing big spinnakers to be car ried to advantage when reaching. A real winners profile.

A Leader's Know-How
Because of the size of their production, the Bénéteau yard has considerable mastery of the latest manufacturing techniques such as injection and infusion. For the 34.7, the Bénéteau yard has chosen to draw on the best of these two techniques to create a new process that we have called INFUJECTION. In this instance the hull and structure have been infujected, whilst the deck has been manufactured by injection. Thats what being out in front means. The other major advantage of the 34.7 is her revolutionary hull from the pen of Bruce Farr Yacht Design and her composite keel. There too they chose to look firmly ahead, and to acknowledge that henceforth the IRC is a real benchmark in French and international competition. The result? Hull lines that are as stretched as possible, exceptional stability due to a progressive and lowered centre of gravity, as well as a maximum reduction of wetted surface area to optimise speed.
Efficiency in the smalled detail
- a cockpit that is both large and ergonomic for smooth handling
- a steering wheel unequalled for a boat of this size, for optimal precision and sensitivity at the helm.
- a retractable bowsprit
- an asymmetric spinnaker for optimal sail area
- a sail drive engine to minimise drag
More of a First than ever
Inside the 34.7 you will find everything that characterises the spirit of the big Firsts - 2 cabins (one private), a separate head compartment, L-shaped galley, chart table facing forwards, and not forgetting very attractive joinery in light wood. You will notice the care put into optimising the boats performance due to perfect weight distribution around the centre of gravity (hence the head compartment situated
forward and the existence of only one layout version).
